Bintel is the brains within waste management – the partner who will help you reach your economic and environmental goals. With our smart holistic solution within IoT, with sensors, platform, and apps, we are digitising the industry and making it data-driven, which is the key to profitable sustainability.
“We want to contribute to recycling and circular ecosystems being the most economically viable alternative.”
Until now, there has generally been a lot of talk and little action when it comes to creating smart cities in the Nordic region. H22 is one of the first big efforts towards making a smart city for real, and with this initiative, Helsingborg is at the forefront. Therefore, we at Bintel want to be involved.
H22 is about using innovations to create the conditions for a smart city. This is exactly what we at Bintel are working with. Bintel applies smart tech (hardware and software) within the waste management and recycling industry with the aim of optimising waste collection and making it easier for us all to be better at separating our waste.
Together with different actors in Helsingborg and under the umbrella of H22, we will perform tests with connecting various containers. This means that we can together digitise a very important flow in the city in order to increase sustainability.
In what way will your involvement contribute to the development of Helsingborg and other cities?
We want to contribute to recycling and circular ecosystems being the most economically viable alternative. Simply put, circular ecosystems shall be the most profitable. In doing so, linear models that are detrimental to the environment will be made obsolete by the economic forces in society. What is today sometimes considered an inefficient element associated with high costs can become optimised and profitable.
Data and insights gained through Bintel’s platforms enable us to provide this information to city departments, property owners, individuals, and other customers. Together we can optimise the routes driven to collect waste and in doing so reduce costs and unnecessary climate impact. In collaboration with Helsingborg and other cities, we can even direct important questions to residents, such as: How good are you at separating your waste? Are you better or worse than others in the same circumstances? What could you do better?
Through analysis, knowledge, and communication, we can then influence behaviour and thus increase the quantity of waste from energy recovery to material recycling. Furthermore, we can increase the quality (reduce incorrect separation), thereby improving circularity even more.
