We are driven by our promise to build a better society. A society that is environmentally and socially sustainable. What we develop, build, and manufacture shall carry society into the future. Together with our customers, suppliers, and partners, we aim to lead our industry towards sustainable development.
“Our vision is a balanced city, living in harmony, bursting with life and hope. It is also prepared to meet coming demands, not least when it comes to climate change.”
– Johan Larsson, business developer
Helsingborg is an essential city for Skanska. As a leading community developer, we want to be a part of making Helsingborg more sustainable – socially, economically and environmentally – for the residents of Helsingborg and for the community at large. H22 is an excellent forum for this. Here we can be seen, show what we can achieve and expand our network.
A smarter city is always up-to-date and one step ahead. Consequently, it is prepared for the challenges that arise, for example, when the climate changes. A smarter city can also rise to more of the challenges of our time, and it is attractive and inclusive to everyone who wants to live and work there.
What challenges does your organisation aim to solve within the context of the H22 initiative?
We want to challenge the limitations that exist in rules and standards, for example, when it comes to recycling and energy deliveries, to enable innovative projects and smarter construction. We also want to show how we can help make Helsingborg climate neutral for real. Also, we want to be part of building a city where people with different backgrounds and origins can live together, creating strong social cohesion.
In what way can Helsingborg be used as a test bed for your organisation and innovations?
We want to use Skanska’s full potential, involving all our branches of business. This way, we can benefit from all the knowledge that the Skanska Group has gained worldwide to develop the city of the future. In this project, we want to try out what opportunities early involvement of citizens, companies and associations can offer. We also want to use Helsingborg as a testbed to include sustainability in early planning stages and to develop our joint dialogue in doing so.
