– Christian Rydström, Sales manager south region/site manager Helsingborg
Having both customers and employees in Helsingborg, we naturally want to get involved and make a difference when an ambitious initiative like H22 is launched. For us, it’s both important and exciting to contribute our expertise and what we feel passionate about, so we see H22 as a great opportunity to be part of the global development of sustainable and smart cities. At the same time, it gives us as a business and the residents of the city a chance to be involved in putting Helsingborg on the map as a city at the forefront in this very exciting area.
For Consid, a smarter city is a city where all actors work together to develop the city in the right direction. This involves both residents and politicians, tourists and businesses, where new technology and new approaches to resource consumption are used to optimise the impact our city life has on the global economy and environment. Everything from how we build our cities in the future to how we consume resources such as food and energy, the effects of traffic etc. Essentially, how we can together create a more sustainable future by collaborating on these issues.
In what way can Helsingborg be used as a test bed for your organisation and innovations?
In line with the innovation work being conducted within Consid, the city’s residents can naturally be involved in testing ideas on a bigger scale. This is also in relation to Hbg Works, where we can carry out testing together to maximise the results of the innovation work being done both by us as a company and within many other activities and parts of Helsingborg as a city.
In what way do you think H22 can make a difference in these times in which we are living following COVID-19?
As an initiative, H22 has every possibility of making a difference when it comes to pandemics such as COVID-19. We’ve learned a lot during this period when the virus has devastated the world, and if we can harness the positive things that have actually come from this pandemic, then there’s every opportunity to apply this to the work being done within H22 running up to the City Expo, and long after. For example, we expect that useful insights will be achieved regarding new forms of digital collaboration, reduced travel etc. Many lessons can be learned from these times and will be part of shaping how we live and work in the future.
