Wihlborgs is the leading property company in the Öresund region. Each day, 50,000 people go to work at one of our premises. People in Malmö, Lund, Helsingborg, and Copenhagen all meet in city spaces and buildings designed by us. The more dynamic and sustainable cities, the better it is for our customers, and thus for us. That is why we are proud to be a partner of H22 – an important initiative for the future of Helsingborg.
“We want to contribute to the continued growth of the Öresund region, and a vital aspect of this is that our children and young people have faith in the future, role models, and people to inspire them.”
– Magnus Lambertsson, regional director in Helsingborg
H22 is an inspiring initiative, and it’s natural for us to be involved and contribute to developing tomorrow’s solutions for a better quality of life in a smarter, more sustainable city. It’s obvious to us, in our role as region builder, that collaboration between different sectors is the path to creating a sustainable society.
In what way will your involvement contribute to the development of Helsingborg and other cities?
We hope that this initiative will contribute to learning, new forms of collaboration, and innovative solutions when it comes to sustainable urban development. And that we as a region builder can also share good examples and lessons learned with other cities where we operate. In this way, we can build a stronger Öresund region.
What challenges does your organisation aim to solve within the context of the H22 initiative?
We want to contribute to the continued growth of the Öresund region, and a vital aspect of this is that our children and young people have faith in the future, role models, and people to inspire them. Our focus during H22 will therefore be to contribute to Helsingborg’s long-term development from an employment perspective.
Together with a number of other partners, we will be developing a concept where the young residents of Helsingborg have an opportunity to develop their own or someone else’s idea into a business concept, with support and guidance from HETCH and us others in the project. We see it as an alternative springboard. And by bringing together young people from different parts of the city, we believe that they can broaden their network early on. By getting unique and close access to support and role models, we also create better conditions for them to succeed. The ambition is to create a model that can be applied within several areas, and generate similar concepts. The model can then spread to other cities.
We want to enable the potential found in the city’s younger generation. We want to open up and show today’s young people what opportunities can be had. If they have the courage to take the first step, we will take their hand and show them the path towards future possibilities and development!
In what way can Helsingborg be used as a test bed for your organisation and innovations?
We believe in development through collaboration. And since the City of Helsingborg has high ambitions in terms of both technology and sustainability, we would really like to see the city’s role in connecting forces for good be even more prominent in order to implement new technology that, for example, reduces environmental impact. For instance, within the energy area. We also hope that HETCH – both with its local contact network and top expertise within tech – can be a link that connects us with actors who, for example, want to test new technology.
