Why are you choosing to be an H22 partner?
EC Solutions has its roots in Helsingborg, which is a wonderful place to live. It has an exciting history, and an exciting future. EC Solutions works at the forefront of technology but our customers are often found in other parts of Skåne. That being said, we’ve started to gain a foothold with technological development locally in Helsingborg, and we hope to be able to capitalise on this in order to develop H22 and to strengthen Helsingborg’s brand as a city for innovation and high-tech development companies.
What does a smarter city mean to you?
A smart city should improve quality of life by being the best place to live, work, spend your free time, or commute from. There should be a wide range of stores, restaurants, and activities in a safe and beautiful environment. Those with the possibility to do so, should be able to work in public spaces if they work from home. Those commuting from the city should be able to start their work day when they get on the train or bus to work. The “smart” elements in the city should be working in the background, without being visible, to provide security and access in this regard.
In what way can Helsingborg be used as a test bed for your organisation and innovations?
Helsingborg is a city with a big focus on technology and innovation and how this can be applied to develop and modernise, as well as improve the residents’ quality of life. With its extensive wireless city network, well-developed LoRaWAN network and open data initiative, the only limits are our imaginations. Furthermore, the construction of Oceanhamnen, with its innovative three pipes sewer system, is creating even more opportunities, above all within sustainable development with the help of sophisticated technology.
How is your organisation using the potential of digitisation in the making of a smarter city?
We are a development company, and we love challenges. By working together with the City of Helsingborg, we gain a greater insight into their specific challenges, and thanks to the aforementioned technical solutions, we have fantastic opportunities to combine our expertise with their technology to create modern solutions – all to improve the city and the lives of those living there.
