Why are you choosing to be an H22 partner?
We want to be involved in developing the future way of working! We want to show that the real estate industry, our workplaces, and urban development also benefit from adopting a more circular business model. It creates fantastic opportunities and added value when we start using our existing spaces in a more sustainable way. At the same time, these same places actually become more accessible to more people, which is a democratic act in itself. Adopting a new approach to the workplace is a fantastic liberating development that we want to be a part of. H22 is an obvious initiative for us to be involved in, to develop and inspire how to create a more open and inclusive city.
In what way will your involvement contribute to the development of Helsingborg and other cities?
Our goal is to create 50 public workplaces around Helsingborg during H22, available to anyone who wants to book them. The places are located and booked easily through our app. It’s as simple as picking up the phone and searching the Awaio map for the nearest workplace. In this way, we create more movement in the city and new meetings between people and companies. Simply put, Helsingborg becomes a little bigger.
What does a smarter city mean to you?
A smarter city for us is simply a city that takes care of its resources and people. There is so much unused space in many cities, and by sharing spaces with each other we can find different ways to use existing areas without impacting the environment with new builds to the same extent. But we must also take care of our citizens and ensure that everyone has a good quality of life. Our vision is to share across boundaries in a natural and simple way; between age groups, between established companies and new ones, between different social groups, students and potential mentors. A smart city is a well-oiled mechanism.
When you imagine the city of the future, what do you picture as the most exciting changes?
New innovations that promote social and green sustainability! Digital tools that can be easily used in everyday life and in doing so promote the well-being of both people and the environment. In the city of the future, it is a matter of course that we take care of each other.
