How can we be proactive in dealing with future challenges?

MONDAY / FACILITATE

Innovation can often be experienced as a difficult process since the way we work with policy development and KPIs is at odds with our rapidly changing world and complex problems. But it doesn’t have to be that hard. We need to understand how we can anticipate both challenges and needs. The OECD Observatory of Public Sector Innovation is exploring how governments are transforming their systems to proactively anticipate challenges and build flexibility. The City of Helsingborg is taking an anticipatory approach through promoting innovation in its governance systems, and Komet, a parliamentary committee of the Swedish Government, is looking for test beds to learn about how to shape future-oriented policies – with a focus on emerging technologies. In this City Talk, we will explore what anticipatory innovation could look like in practice.

Key takeaways:

– How your organisation can be a proactive shaper of the future

– Concrete tips on how to implement an anticipatory approach
