Peter MacLeod
Peter is passionate about reinventing governance as something truly participatory. He often writes and speaks on the citizen’s experience of the state, the importance of public imagination, and the future of responsible government.
Over the past decade, MASS LBP has worked to carve out new ways for thousands of Canadians to advise and work with government. Today, MASS is internationally recognised for its work to re-energise democracy by pioneering the use of Civic Lotteries and Citizen Reference Panels and Assemblies on behalf of a wide range of government clients.
What will Peter talk about?
Public confidence in democracy is low, and a wave of pessimism and populism is polarising societies. Peter will paint a positive picture of what we can achieve together and how understanding different perspectives can be key. He will be talking about how we can harness the talents found within all social groups and the importance of active citizen participation. The renewal of democracy is our best bet, but it will take bold action and unity – and this we can do!
