Louise Thivant-Johannsen has been functioning as UNICEF’s CFCI Advisor since January 2016. Her main contributions have been in the promotion of the CFCI locally and globally. Louise guides and advises local governments and other stakeholders on implementing the CFCI as well as on strengthening the voice of children and young people in decision-making processes. With a Masters in International Law (LL.M.) and a Masters in International Affairs, Louise has authored the UNICEF Child Friendly Cities and Communities Handbook, published in April 2018.
What will Louise talk about?
Louise will be joining urban planner and integrator Hannah Wright to talk about play as an essential right. For children to thrive now and in the future, play must be made globally accessible, integrated, and inclusive. Hannah and Lousie will be discussing the role of cities as a playful backdrop for children and the need for engaging citizens and communities in placemaking and city-wide play approaches.
