Download presentation (PDF) Cornelis is working as an urban planner and researcher at the NGO Safer Sweden Foundation, specializing in urban safety issues. His specific interest lies in how places are created/designed and how that affects people’s feelings (of safety and perception of places in general). With a PhD from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH, Stockholm) Cornelis enjoys combining research work with practical analyses throughout Sweden. As a leader in the European Placemaking Network he also tries to elevate crime prevention from being about hardware protection to software interactions between people. At the moment he leads the non-profit project of developing new national Swedish guidelines for safe urban planning, BoTryggt2030.
