Why are you choosing to be an H22 partner?
Helsingborg is a brave and future-oriented city that is daring to test new ways of building the sustainable cities of tomorrow. This is an environment in which we want to collaborate.
What challenges does your organisation aim to solve within the context of the H22 initiative?
The holistic perspective means we need to solve issues like integration and growing cities while taking into account quality of life and climate. Challenges we want to address within H22 include how to measure quality of life, how to achieve more circular flows in the built environment, and how we can use digitisation and data for smarter management, monitoring, and streamlining. We want to make advances in areas such as how to upgrade existing buildings and districts and how to create a green urban environment. Ensuring solid and resilient supply systems is another important area.
When you imagine the city of the future, what do you picture as the most exciting changes?
The sustainable cities and societies of the future are robust. They are equipped for a changing climate where green and blue areas curb the effect of vast quantities of water and contribute to biodiversity, better health, and greener urban environments. They promote integration, interaction, and experiences and facilitate a smooth and secure daily life for residents, visitors, and businesses.
How is your organisation using the potential of digitisation in the making of a smarter city?
We are using increased digitisation to gather data on objects and residents in society in order to enable the efficient and sustainable operation and maintenance of properties and infrastructure, but also to provide quality services to the residents.
“For us, a smart city is a society that is constantly developing together with the residents.”
Kristina Mjörnell, business and innovation area manager
