Helsingborg invited to the UN headquarters in Geneva

In April Helsingborg was invited as one of 30 smart and sustainable cities to participate at the conference Day of Cities, held at the UN headquarters in Geneva. Along the likes of Glasgow, Moscow and Vancouver we discussed sustainable urban planning and our plans heading towards 2022.

Day of Cities

The Day of Cities brings together Mayors, urban managers and other key municipal practitioners for an exchange of views and knowledge sharing of good practices and successful planning strategies. In two roundtables, Mayors and Deputy Mayors will discuss approaches on how to create smart sustainable cities, focusing on ways to improve the quality of life of people and on improving efficiency of urban operations, services and competitiveness.

A quick return

Apparently Helsingborg made a good impression during the first visit to Geneva, because just a few weeks later we were invited again. Then to participate in a panel on technology development and sustainability.

-Through this contact with the UN and other countries, we can learn from other cities that are in the fore front. It creates valuable contacts and relations on our way towards H22, says Micco Grönholm who represented Helsingborg in the panel.
