For several years, the city district of Drottningh\u00f6g has been undergoing long-term development and renewal. As part of the partnership with H22, BoKlok want to be involved and contribute to the positive development of the district by building housing with tenant ownership rights in an area that previously only had rentals. This will be the site both for new terraced houses and apartments that use the housing cooperative model.<\/p>\n

Creating space for inclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n

BoKlok have previously worked with development projects like Drottningh\u00f6g in the Million Programme, a Swedish affordable housing programme in the 60s and 70s, which achieved highly successful results. New tenant-owner housing creates variety in the accommodation opportunities, and those living in the district can find a new home within their neighbourhood, and continue to be close to friends and family. This also creates \u201cvacancy chains\u201d, which reduces residential segregation and contributes to socially sustainable development. Customers are given the best conditions to thrive through a democratic sales process and tailored support, such as explaining how a housing cooperative works and the rights and obligations involved.<\/p>\n

Sustainability in every detail<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Drottningh\u00f6g, BoKlok will be building 119 new homes in three stages. First out is BoKlok Aroma<\/a> with 36 apartments divided into two buildings. Then comes BoKlok Melba<\/a> with 31 terrace houses, and lastly BoKlok Astrakan, with 52 apartments in three separate buildings.<\/p>\n

Like all BoKlok homes, these will be constructed in wood, which has half the climate impact of the average newly built house. The apartment buildings will also have solar panels on the roofs to create green and sustainable energy for the tenant-owner association, with any excess going to the electricity grid. Reaching the BoKlok goal for climate neutrality by 2035 means helping residents to live a more sustainable life, from making major changes, down to smaller adjustments.<\/p>\n
